Nope, I've never been to a premiere before, this'll be my first. I hope everything goes well. I'll probably end up going the minute I wake up Catching Fire morning.

Yeah, it all depends on the theater. There’s one theater by a mall a couple cities away from me and I will never see a midnight premiere there again. Way too many kids, very loud, very rude. But there’s a couple that aren’t in too busy of a location that always have great groups of people who dress up and are super passionate about the books/movies. Hope you have a good experience!

I started a District 7 short story / fanfic thing last summer. I should really get motivated and finish it. Why can’t days be longer? Too much to do in a day!

Hey, Brainless!  It’s Johanna Mason, victor from District 7, in her Quarter Quell Opening Ceremony tree costume, holding her axe.  First picture is without her headdress to show the “spiky” hair I tried to give her and in the other one, she’s wearing it.

Bottom right photo is a close up showing the tree-trunk texture I tried to do for her bottoms.  It was really hard trying to make her in a tree costume and headdress for this style of clay figure without making her look (a) like a tree with a head on top of it, (b) like a hula girl and/or Eve from the Bible, and/or (c) like Jesus wearing a crown of thorns with the headdress on.  Oh well, I tried, haha.  I figure the Capitol style costume is supposed to be tacky, anyway.

Bottom photo is all the Hunger Games clay characters I’ve made so far.

Made this for Jenn (wickedlyclever) who asked for Johanna in her QQ tribute parade outfit!

If anyone has any suggestions on what they’d like to see next, let me know and I’ll see what I can do!

So a few days ago I got this job at a plant farm. I’ve applied there like once a year since 2010 because I just love the whole atmosphere there. It’s not by any buildings, it’s right next to this lake, and it’s on the edge of town by itself surrounded by trees. Well I was so excited that I FINALLY got the opportunity to work there. I applied for a retail position in the main store (which is basically just a giant greenhouse :D) where people buy plants and supplies, but during my interview the manager said “I know you applied for retail, but a position just opened up today where you would be working in the field. Watering, moving, and potting trees and shrubs.” I said yes right away. So that’s what i’ve been doing at my job so far, taking care of all the trees. And the potting nursery is back along the forest edge, so I even had 3 deer grazing 100 feet away from me yesterday. The District 7 resident (trees!) and Hufflepuff (herbology!) inside of me are extremely happy.
